In their various companies, clubs and groups, the alumni have lots of chance to get together, which can lead to the creation of lots of generous initiatives for the good of the Foundation. Here’s a selection of some fantastic collective donations…
The tradition of Class Gift
Every year, since 2005, the graduating class get together during the month of June in order to present the HEC Foundation with a generous collective donation, destined to fund financial aid grants for their classmates in the next school year.
In 2015, close to 400 students got together in order to raise over €200,000.
In order to continue the tradition of the Class Gift and give back to the school a little of what it has given them, each year class gets together and raises some money to celebrate their 5, 10, 15 and 20 year graduation anniversaries.
In 2014, the delegates of the class of 89 organized a social evening in Paris which brought together around a hundred graduates. Despite the geographic distance, the graduates of the class of 89 have maintained an extremely strong bond. On a screen, the total of donations collected increased as the night progressed, making it a very exciting live fundraising event.
The total, of more than 100,000 euros, which was collected is enough to finance the scholarships of 10 first-year Grand École students.
The organization ‘HEC Women’ (HEC au Féminin) took advantage of the anniversary of women’s arrival on the HEC campus by unifying its members around a fantastic initiative: collect funds in order to finance the first year of studies of a young female CROUS scholar from the Grande École.
More than 12,000 euros were secured in this way, to the benefit of Laure (H.17), who received the donation during the presentation ceremony of the 8th HEC Women’s Trajectories Prize, the 20th May, 2014, organized by HEC Alumni..
